The Youth Programme

A structured martial arts and personal development programme for children and teenagers aged 6–16.

More Than Martial Arts

The Team SMAA Youth Programme is a dedicated, structured pathway for children and teenagers who want to develop not just as martial artists, but as confident, disciplined, and resilient young people.

Classes are age-grouped and led by coaches who specialise in youth development. Every session balances technical martial arts instruction with the social and life skills that make martial arts so uniquely valuable for young people.

From learning their first kickboxing stance to stepping into their first competition, our coaches guide every young member at a pace that builds real confidence — never pushing before a child is ready, but always challenging them to grow.

Age Groups

Structured by Age & Stage

Classes are grouped by age to ensure every child trains with peers at the same developmental stage, with coaching tailored appropriately.

6–9
Junior Cubs

Introduction to martial arts through games, movement, and fun. Building coordination, listening skills, and the very basics of kickboxing in a playful, high-energy environment.

10–12
Juniors

More structured technical training. Members begin learning proper kickboxing technique, partner drills, and pad work — while continuing to develop focus and discipline.

13–15
Intermediate Youth

Advanced technical development. Sparring introduced in a controlled setting. Competition preparation available for those who want to compete. Increased physical conditioning.

16+
Senior Youth / Adult

Transition into adult training programme with guided support. At 16, young members can join our adult Kickboxing and K1 classes alongside the full Team SMAA community.
